I loved having Pregnancy Reflexology because...
"I attended Lisa at 32 weeks pregnant on my first baby. I found her very professional and competent in her role. After each session I felt so relaxed and less anxious about the birth. As I suffered from preeclampsia it helped with my swollen legs and ankles as well as ensuring I delivered naturally on my due date. I have a fabulous baby girl who everyone says is so placid and content which I feel is thanks to Lisa and her sessions. I would encourage all expectant Mams to take time out and attend Lisa for yourself and your unborn baby as it is very worthwhile."
Mary Mc Callan, Physiotherapist, Drogheda
"Pregnancy should be a time to relax and be pampered but when you are a full time student and working Mum it can be difficult to find the time for pampering. I loved my sessions with Lisa - and really looked forward to them. Lisa has paid attention to every detail to make your visit memorable.....the beautiful essential oil blends that relax you the minute you step into her cosy sanctuary....the heated luxurious blankets.....the music and of course the treatments themselves. I often dropped off to sleep during the treatments - the worst part? Leaving!!!"

"I like to have massages and other holistic treatments whilst pregnant but as I get on in my pregnancy and my bump is large and heavy I find it uncomfortable to get into certain positions for treatments – apart from one – reflexology! No matter how uncomfortable I am or how difficult I find it getting around, this is by far my favourite treatment to have when pregnant.
I found it especially helpful in my third trimester when sleep was difficult for me. I went to Lisa every week for the last 8 weeks and felt much better after each treatment. My feet would feel rejuvenated and my body lighter and it really helped me sleep. Lisa is gentle but firm and very thorough. It was like a tonic having her work on my feet. I cannot recommend her highly enough!"
Siobhan O'Neill-White, Bettystown, Co. Meath
"Pregnancy reflexology was definitely one of the components that helped me through the last stages of pregnancy and to be focused during labour. It was so exciting to feel baby moving in response to the massage and I believe that the reflexology was as relaxing for me as for baby. I fell asleep during every session which proves the calming effect it had on my body. Also, it helped me to get a full night sleep on that same day."
Stefanie McGivern, Dundalk, Co. Louth
"I had pregnancy reflexology during my first two pregnancies with Lisa and found it helped immensely by making my pregnancies more enjoyable, after each session my sleep pattern improved and I felt an improved sense of well-being. I believe that the reflexology I received from Lisa contributed to my good, uncomplicated labours resulting in two beautiful contented babies. Unfortunately due to financial and time constraints I could not avail of Lisa's Reflexology during my third pregnancy and things did not go as smoothly as previous pregnancies. The pregnancy did not
have the same relaxed feel as the others and i had a much more difficult baby. I would highly recommend Pregnancy Reflexology to any expecting mothers and there is nobody better than Lisa !"
Jacqui McGovern, Tullyallen, Co. Louth
"I have nothing but good things to say about Lisa and pregnancy reflexology! I had treatments with Lisa through my three pregnancies. I found each treatment to be very relaxing and enjoyable. It was an hour of total bliss, where I was able to switch off from the outside world and feel close to my baby to be! My pregnancies were all pretty straight forward,as were the three births. I have three happy and healthy children, who have been great sleepers from day one! I definitely think the pregnancy reflexology had a positive effect on my babies."
Jackie Glennon, Navan, Co.Meath
"I was a first time mum-to-be who loved being pregnant but was a bit anxious about the whole prospect of labour.
I heard about Lisa through an acquaintance.
I didn't know what to expect - looking back now 3 years later it makes me think of comfort, safety, warmth and love. Lisa is a truly healing person and she creates a womb like experience for the mum to be, where for that 1 hour she is cocooned in those warm blankets and feels totally safe and cared for. I used to be so relaxed after the sessions and felt like I was truly caring for my baby then too.
I had to be induced in the end and called to Lisa for a session (reflexology, not drink!) on my way into the hospital. I had a wonderful session with her and the calmness stayed with me through the night and into the next day when my labour started. I know that labour is nothing to be frightened of now but growing up watching dramatised sagas on tv and hearing horrible stories did have an effect on me, and I needed Lisa's tranquility and honesty and love and care to make me appreciate the journey. I still did have an epidural but at least I was calm getting it!
Thank you Lisa.
Sophie Geraghty, Oldbridge, Co. Meath
"My pregnancy reflexology sessions with Lisa were a gift. Not to be cliched but a gift that kept on giving! Aside from the wonderfully relaxing hour in session, I had increased energy and slept better after sessions. I also found it great to 'check in' with how my body was doing during pregnancy. I had heard rumours that it could make your body more efficient in labour. My two hour first stage and 5 minute second stage certainly doesn't dispute that!"
Cecily Gibbons, Navan, Co. Meath
"I went to Lisa for reflexology before Clíodhna was born. I think I did one session a week for the last 4-6 weeks. No other pregnancy treatment left me with such a sense of calm or total relaxation. I would nearly float out after the session (which is pretty impressive to be able to say when you feel like a moving mountain). I suffered with my back during the pregnancy and really felt the benefit of going for reflexology. I would always sleep so well after sessions. As a busy working Mom with a young toddler at home reflexology gave me the opportunity to switch off from the outside world and focus on myself and my unborn baby in such a special way. I really couldn't recommend it enough. I also benefited from reflexology after my baby was born too which was brilliant."
Mara O'Reilly, Ardee
"At 30 weeks pregnant, I was suffering with terrible back pain, sleepless nights, and constipation and was under a lot of stress. My midwife had suggested that I try reflexology and she gave me Lisa Heeney's name. The thoughts of anyone going near my feet did not appeal to me one little bit, but I thought at this stage I would try anything. I was amazed at what reflexology did for me. It is a wonderful experience; it felt so good that I fell asleep within minutes of Lisa touching my feet.
From the time I started going to see Lisa, I saw instant results. I was sleeping right through the night, my back pain eased and I no longer suffered from constipation. Reflexology truly is an amazing experience. Lisa makes you feel so relaxed and she has such a calming effect on you. There is a lovely ambiance within the room as soon as you walk in.
I was so scared at the thought of giving birth after a 9 year gap, but I sailed through my last 10 weeks with Lisa's help. I arrived into hospital 4cm dilated and gave birth to a beautiful little boy one hour later, without any medication. It was the easiest and most calming delivery I have ever had.
My baby was breech at 38 weeks but with the help of Lisa, she managed to get him into position before delivery. I also gave birth to my son on my exact due date. I think this is all down to reflexology.
I still go to reflexology at least once or twice a month and I would not miss it for the world. In the past I have tried all different treatments for relaxation, but nothing compares to the deep relaxation you get from reflexology."
Tonya M., Laytown, Co. Meath
“I started weekly sessions of reflexology with Lisa 33 weeks into my first pregnancy. The most immediate effect I experienced, other than a good hour of pure relaxation, was a few nights of blissful sleep.
After a few sessions I noticed I had a lot less heartburn than before, I really felt great and had plenty of energy all the time. I wanted to be able to deliver my baby without having an epidural and I found the reflexology really helped me to mentally prepare for the event.
As my due date approached, I felt much calmer than I ever expected to be. Nine days past my due date my baby finally decided he was ready to make his big entrance. When I got to the hospital I was 4cm dilated and the pains were quite manageable; an hour later my beautiful son was born. After the delivery I was up and about almost immediately. I definitely put my trouble-free birth experience down to the weeks of preparation beforehand with reflexology and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to do something to help them prepare too.
Lisa’s calming and reassuring manner week on week was as much a godsend as her hands-on therapy was.”
V.W. Mornington, Co. Meath
"I must say the Reflexology helped me so much, and if we are to get a brother or sister for Sean I will definitely be booking sessions with Lisa. I initially went to Lisa Heeney as I was having trouble sleeping and immediately I was getting the benefits of a restful night's sleep, my husband is also very grateful as I was keeping him awake also!
The reflexology also helped my labour as I was only 3 hours in the hospital before our son was born. This is our first baby but I understand that my labour was extremely quick for a first. Also the baby was very relaxed throughout the labour. He also decided to come into this world at 38 weeks 4 days which was a welcome surprise. Thank you so much for helping me sleep throughout my pregnancy and also for a quick labour."

"Towards the end of my pregnancy I was retaining a lot of fluid and finding it all a bit of a slog. I decided on some reflexology and rang the Irish Reflexologists' Institute - which happens to be in Drogheda. They recommended Lisa and I booked a course of treatments.
I found the treatments helped ease the physical discomfort of carrying around my bump and lessened the bad swelling in my feet.
The best benefits was that it was wonderfully relaxing and seemed to dispel all the apprehension and stress I had building up for the impending birth and helped me sleep better. I went in wrecked and emerged renergised as if my battery was put charging!
I would definitely recommend treatments - especially with Lisa who made the whole pregnancy experience less daunting and I'm sure it contributed towards the great birth experience I had with my little angel!"
Shiofra, Drogheda
"Thank you Lisa for the wonderful reflexology sessions throughout my pregnancy.
I started getting reflexology at around 30 weeks. I was working, and couldn't sleep, so I was very tired. I had heartburn and some swelling on my ankles. I enjoyed the reflexology sessions once per week. I always was so relaxed that I fell asleep and awoke invigorated. The reflexology helped my heartburn and reduced my swollen ankles. Feelings of anxiousness about the birth melted away after my sessions, and the relaxation stayed with me during my labour. I had a wonderful labour experience. I have the sweetest baby (now two years old!). He always slept very well, I think that the reflexology rubbed off on him. I know that the baby absorbs all the mum's feelings, so he was totally relaxed.
I can highly recommend Lisa for pre-natal reflexology, she has wonderful experience and is passionate about birth. She also has a custom built room, which provided me with a weekly relaxation sanctuary."
Terri, Drogheda/Westport
I started reflexology during the second trimester of my pregnancy. From the first session I was amazed at how both my baby and myself reacted to it. Whenever Lisa was working on the area around my womb I could feel the baby stretching out and enjoying it as much as I was. It really helped me relax and connect with my baby.
Later on in the 3rd trimester I had some discomfort and backache. I got a lot of comfort from the reflexology sessions. It relieved the backache and eased my digestive system. I also learned some techniques I could do myself to relieve the discomfort at home.
I believe that the fact that I was getting regular reflexology helped me stay calm and led to a very relaxed uncomplicated and short labour. Although I went into labour 4 weeks early, I was not stressed at all and I knew that both the baby and I were okay. I had a calm birth and a very placid baby. It was very beneficial for both the baby and me.
I would thoroughly recommend it for any expectant Mum.

“I had weekly reflexology sessions from about 20 weeks into my pregnancy. I really feel that it helped keep me calm and helped me sleep at night. Furthermore, I didn’t have any water retention, and when the time came (I was 4 days early), my labour progressed much better than I ever thought it would. I felt very much in control and able to cope.”
Edel, Drogheda
“I felt reflexology to be extremely beneficial in terms of coping with morning sickness and later stages of pregnancy. It was also helpful to cope with stressful moments while giving birth where I had to go through an emergency c-section. My recovery was quicker which helped me to enjoy precious moments with my daughter Ishitha. I recommend it to my friends and can't stop talking about its advantages!”

"I loved going for my weekly reflexology sessions during my pregnancy. I relaxed so much during the treatments and the sense of calm stayed with me for a good few days afterwards. My labour and birth experiences were both really positive times (I had a wonderful home birth) and I really feel reflexology added to that, and now Lily is such a lovely, calm baby!"

"After losing a baby at eighteen weeks, I became pregnant on Paddy. I was an extremely anxious expectant mother waiting for something to go wrong. However, I met Lisa and I started regular reflexology treatments. My baby grew healthy and strong and I began to relax and realise that this was a viable pregnancy. Lisa was such a positive influence both on me and my precious unborn child. I gave birth to a healthy 8 pound 12 ounce baby boy. From the moment of his birth, he was placid and relaxed. He fed well and slept through the night almost immediately. I put this down to Lisa and the marvels of reflexology. I cannot recommend her and the treatment highly enough. It was a wonderful journey, one that I will never forget. Paddy is now a happy and healthy five year old and guess what? He still sleeps through the night. Result!
